Mixed-Use Building in Brightwood Park
Located in DC’s Petworth neighborhood, this 21-unit mixed-use building transforms four vacant retail lots at the intersection of Kennedy Street and Georgia Avenue. Retail, office, and residential uses activate the ground floor, while the building’s unique footprint gives every residence street-facing frontage and abundant natural light. Brick and expansive storefront windows create a strong base, contrasting with the lighter volumes above, while darker siding defines the more recessed areas of the building. Green roofs, solar panels, and integrated stormwater management complement the architecture, bringing sustainability into the overall design.
