Rather than embracing a fully open-concept layout, the design respects the home's original character by preserving defining architectural elements, including the central staircase and original fireplace mantels. Carefully positioned openings improve the flow of the main floor while maintaining the integrity of the original plan. At the rear, the home is transformed with a generous kitchen, dining area, and informal seating space designed for contemporary living and entertaining.
