Located on a developing street in DC’s Petworth neighborhood, this project transforms two existing townhouses into four residences, responding to the evolving scale and growing density of the surrounding context. A new third floor and mezzanine expand the original structure to accommodate four generous two-bedroom units.

The upper residence takes advantage of the added height with a double-height living space and spiral staircase leading to a private rooftop terrace. Large windows bring natural light into the interiors, while the terrace extends the living space outdoors and offers expansive views across the neighborhood.
The units are efficiently planned to maximize every square foot, creating interiors that feel open, airy, and comfortable.
