This Victorian row house in the Woodley Park Historic District was reimagined through a complete interior renovation and a rear addition spanning every level of the home. Behind its carefully preserved historic façade, contemporary interiors unfold with clean lines and open, light-filled spaces, while traditional detailing provides a quiet connection between the home's past and present.

The first floor preserves the home's traditional layout, with formal living and dining spaces reflecting its original character. A rear addition expands the kitchen into a generous, light-filled space, where corner windows and a glass doors open to the backyard. By extending the home at the rear, the design introduces abundant natural light and strengthens the connection between the interior and the exterior.

A Private Retreat

The primary suite opens to a private balcony overlooking the backyard, while corner windows fill the room with natural light and views of the surrounding landscape. The primary bathroom brings a spa-like sense of comfort to an urban home through its calm palette and refined detailing.

Designed to Adapt

The third floor includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with the rear bedroom designed as a second primary suite. Generous proportions and a private bathroom allow it to function comfortably as an alternative primary bedroom, guest suite, or space for extended family. This flexible arrangement gives the home the ability to adapt to different family configurations and stages of life, allowing the spaces to evolve as needs change over time.
